About BESTT

Bringing Effective Skills & Technology Together (BESTT) is a federally funded project designed to bring the latest developments in health science resources and services to health information professionals who live far from urban centers of research and study. Funded by the Institute of Museum & Library Services, BESTT is a collaborative effort among Western Maryland AHEC, University of South Carolina School of Medicine Library, and West Virginia Library Association. The goals of BESTT are:

  • To train 85 health information professionals to apply knowledge about new technologies and health care practices when providing information services;
  • To train 85 health information professionals to enhance patrons’ ability to access tools that promote critical thinking to more effectively use health science information;
  • To produce a model of these processes that can be emulated in other areas of the country and accessed via a Web site designed for this project.

Replication Model: Replicate BESTT in your region!
